About Shelburne County REMO
The Shelburne County Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO) works to help protect residents, communities, infrastructure, and essential services before, during, and after emergencies.
REMO supports a coordinated regional approach to emergency management by bringing municipalities and partner agencies together to plan, share resources, communicate, and respond effectively.
Our work is based on the four pillars of emergency management:
Mitigation – reducing risks and potential impacts
Preparedness – planning, training, exercising, and public education
Response – coordinating information, resources, and services during emergencies
Recovery – helping communities restore services and recover after an incident
Shelburne County REMO works closely with municipal governments, ground search and rescue teams, fire departments, police, emergency health services, utilities, provincial agencies, community organizations, and other partners.
Residents also play an important role by knowing local risks, making an emergency plan, staying informed, and being prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.
Our goal is to help make Shelburne County safer, more prepared, and more resilient.
